Company Profile

Headquartered in Wayne, N.J., JVC Professional Products is a division of JVC U.S.A. and a cornerstone of the professional video production marketplace. Its ProHD line of camcorders helps thousands of videographers deliver their projects on time and on budget. The latest models in the series not only deliver outstanding image quality, but use affordable, nonproprietary SDHC media and offer Apple Final Cut Pro native file recording. JVC also features a variety of professional LCD monitors for studio and field use, and offers a complete line of professional grade combo decks for Blu-ray, DVD, and tape-based dubbing and archiving.

The new Vérité “G Series” of professional LCD monitors from JVC Professional Products features 3G and dual-link HD/SD-SDI (1080p/60 4:4:4) inputs. The first two models in the series, 17-inch DT-V17G1Z and the 24-inch DT-V24G1Z, are designed for broadcast, studio, mobile, and field applications that demand accurate color reproduction for critical image evaluation.

“JVC’s LCD monitors are the leading broadcast monitors in the U.S. market, which is a result of providing unmatched performance and value without compromise,” said Craig Yanagi, manager of marketing and brand strategy. “The new feature-rich Vérité G Series is designed to establish an even higher standard for critical monitoring applications while keeping well within your budget.”

G Series monitors feature a built-in waveform monitor with over-level function, vectorscope with selectable size and position, advanced audio level meter, and LTC/VITC time code support. A new, non-glossy LCD panel provides improved picture quality and maintains accurate color reproduction at wide viewing angles, while JVC's 10-bit 1080p processing ensures the highest picture quality with less than one frame of latency. EIA-608/708 DTV Closed Captioning is supported via HD-SDI inputs.

Both models are equipped with traditional rotary knobs for sound and picture control, plus a built-in speaker and a rugged, adjustable stand. The DT-V17G1Z also provides AC/DC operation and a handle for field use. G Series monitors feature an HDMI-compatible DVI-D input for Blu-ray playback, plus component and composite inputs to accommodate legacy equipment. The 24-inch DT-V24G1Z offers native 1920x1080 resolution, and the 17-inch DT-V17G1Z offers 1366x768 resolution.

Closed Captioning decoder, 12-chanel audio meter with peak-hold function, and selectable gamma makes this product not only a professional monitor, but a precise measurement instrument for broadcast and post-production applications,” said Edgar Shane, general manager, engineering.

The durable GD-32X1 32-inch super-slim flat panel HD monitor – just 1/4-inch thick at its thinnest point and weighing only 12.5 pounds – produces vivid images with its Intelligent Color Management. It features full 1920x1080 resolution with a 4,000:1 contrast ratio, and provides 90 percent coverage of Adobe RGB’s wide color space. An original LED edge-lighting system delivers uniform brightness and light efficiency with a 178-degree viewing angle.

Another model in the GD Series, the GD-42X1 is a 42-inch wide gamut HD monitor that offers native HD 1920x1080 pixel resolution with a 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Its picture engine accurately reproduces natural colors and clear pictures with an original algorithm that analyzes color distribution in each frame of the input signal. With its pre-set professional color profiles, the GD-42X1 is ideal for a wide range of critical monitoring applications. Housed in an attractive black and silver cabinet with an ultra-slim profile and removable stereo speakers, the GD-42X1 features a swiveling stand with three-step height adjustment for tabletop use, as well as VESA holes for wall mounting.
