PLUGINS AND WORKFLOW ENHANCERS FOR FINAL CUT STUDIO
Edit Mule is the product of years of combined experience working as Final Cut Pro online editors in Soho, London’s postproduction centre. We’ve seen pretty much every problem that can arise in day-to-day offline and online edit sessions.

We’ve become increasingly aware of a need for a series of specialised tools to add to Final Cut Pro’s already formidable toolset; from which, we have endeavoured to create a string of plugins that will hasten and in some cases remove altogether, the most tedious and repetitive aspects of an editors job.

  • AUTO SCRATCH
Finally FCP users can now give individual projects unique scratch disk settings, keyboard and window layouts, capture and monitoring settings etc; Auto Scratch remembers everything. Every time you open your project with Auto Scratch, your FCP settings will be as they were for that project. So no more render files all over the place and missing media, no more unexpected keyboard layouts and wrong capture settings, Auto Scratch has changed them for you!
  • FILTER REMOVER
Have you ever had to laboriously remove filters clip by clip? Currently Final Cut Pro has an all or nothing approach to removing both video and audio filters, so here's an indispensable way of selectively removing them from a sequence.
  • AUTO COLLAPSE
Messy and confusing timeline? Here's a handy tool that collapses and consolidates all video material to as few tracks as possible, instantly.

In the Studio: The EditMule Trio
Ben Balser | EditMule has three utility apps that work with FCP to make our lives as editors much easier, picking up the slack in three areas where FCP is lacking: assigning Scratch Disk settings on a per-project basis; collapsing Sequences to remove unnecessary tracks; and removing a specific filter, or filters, from a specific Sequence.
