I thought these technical tests were interesting but he should have added another test where he just went out and shot some real footage. Maybe a wedding or something. Also I never heard him say how much footage you can get on let's say a 32 mb cf card.

Panasonic has had Tapeless 4:2:2 HD prosumer cameras that record MXF files on the market for 5 years already. Canon isn't really breaking new ground here. I would have liked to have seen all the test include the Panasonic HPX170 and/or the HPX370 since they are closer to the same capabilities as the XF300. The only comparison was the skin tone test where you stated the FX300 looked better. I much preferred the look of the HPX370 over the FX300. The FX300 skin tone pictures made the guy look pale and sickly in my opinion. I did like the comparisons of the 7D and 5D cameras as I have been looking into those for some of my shooting projects. I also think that the FX300 should have been stopped down for the tests. It was quite obvious that at 80 fc and 0 db gain there was some blowout of the white teeth. It looks like over 50% of the detail in the teeth was lost. You can't really get a good comparison with a properly exposed and an over exposed image. It washed out the colors overall so the 4:2:0 color space of the other cameras seemed to look better because they were properly exposed.
