While at first it would seem that having a built in downconversion option in the MainConcept Transcoder would be an ideal feature to have, I personally do not recommend utilizing it due to the fact that the resultant DV AVI video suffers from an excessive loss of detail. Instead, I would recommend transcoding to the P2 DVCProHD format, available in all versions of the MainConcept Transcoder, and rescaling the video manually in your editing program.
