Stephen Nathans-Kelly | Real Weddings is exactly what it sounds like: an hour-plus DVD that encompasses all the content the Von Lankens deliver to a bride and groom. But what makes this DVD most valuable is the two commentary tracks--one for shooting, one for editing--that run through the entire disc, breaking down virtually everything they do. Shawn Lam | The primary benefit of the Matrox RT.X2 LE is that even after you add several effects and layers of video, your video preview is done in real time. In addition, once you're done editing, the subsequent export does not first require rendering time for the effects and layers before encoding.

Alan Naumann | Over the years I have gone through several scanners, and I have learned how to use photos effectively in my business. I do hundreds of memorial videos each year (each having anywhere from 30 to 1,500 photos), and I also do other types of montages using photos. For this to be profitable, I rely on speed and quality, which means I need the right scanner.

Marc Smiler | The iPhone breaks new ground with its style, intuitive design, user-focusec software, and multimedia savvy. The ability to sync contacts with your address book is a great feature, and mobile email is generally a positive, though its functionality is limited. And the widescren iPhone is simply better for viewing video than fullscreen devices like the Treo.
Jan Ozer | We all have high-profile products we use every day that help us keep the revenues flowing. Maybe it's Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop or Ulead PhotoImpact, or Microsoft Word, or . . . well, Microsoft Word. Beyond these, however, are other, less-heralded products that one day you learn you simply can't live without.

Chris & Laura Randall | The Matrox RT.X2 is a stable real-time HDV editing solution that adds filters and time-saving features to Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. Dynamic Link and WYSIWYG video output allow users to view their work just as the client would. Most editors will need to upgrade or build a new system to accommodate the card and its requirements. At $1,995, it's not an inexpensive upgrade, but you will have a professional SD and HDV editing system that rivals much more expensive options.
