JVC's GY-HM700 ProHD camcorder delivers the fastest shoot to edit workflow of all professional camcorders in its class, recording natively in the Final Cut Pro .mov file format at 35 Mbp/s, 25 Mbp/s and 19 Mbp/s, and providing a full bandwidth 4:2:2 uncompressed signal. When used together with Ki Pro, the JVC 700 can also deliver files in the ProRes 422 format offering both a second level of redundancy and Final Cut edit-ready files. The GY-HM700 combines JVC's popular compact shoulder form factor with a new level of performance suitable for demanding applications in mainstream production, electronic newsgathering and cinematography. The camera also provides the convenience of solid state recording, the economy of widely available SDHC media, and extreme versatility.
"Many of our professional customers have deployed Apple-centric editing workflows," said Craig Yanagi, Manager, Marketing and Brand Strategy, Professional Products Group, JVC U.S.A. "Ki Pro with the exoskeleton mounts seamlessly to the JVC GY-HM700 ProHD camcorder and enables filmmakers on set to walk away with both 35Mbp/s and ProRes 422 .mov files as they've been captured, providing a whole new dimension to high bandwidth image capture."
"The JVC 700 offers very powerful workflow options," said Nick Rashby, President, AJA Video Systems. "Together with the Ki Pro, the full potential of the JVC 700 can be realized by giving users 4:2:2 performance with immediate access to their files in Apple's ProRes 422 format."
Ki Pro allows filmmakers, broadcasters and video professionals and prosumers to skip the process of re-rendering to an editing codec by giving immediate access to 10-bit full raster edit-ready ProRes 422 files directly from camera. Ki Pro records hours of media to a removable storage module with built in FireWire 800 or to 34mm ExpressCard Flash. The device is a small, portable unit that can sit on a table, in a bay or mounted between a camera and tripod. Ki Pro is also ideal for on-set monitoring, providing instant access to multiple display devices simultaneously.
