While the licensing of mainstream music typically remains out of reach, many videographers prefer to provide their clients an option for music which includes lyrics that are appropriate for the occasion. For the past year Stock20 has been developing licensing relationships with several talented recording artists and offering a limited use, one-year license to event videographers and photographers. All licensing fees are shared equally with the artists.
The experiment was launched from Stock20's "Special Artist Licensing" site featuring the acclaimed Michelle Featherstone who's numerous broadcast television placements include Grey's Anatomy and Alias. Everyday Sunday, who's recent album has placed several songs high on the charts has offered their driving rock ballad "Tell Me You'll Be There" with RedbeardMusic for licensing as well.
With a very positive reception from its customer base, Stock20 began developing RedbeardMusic.com and seeking additional selections. With a successful beta launch last month (featuring two new selections from Ashley Reynolds and Staci Frenes), Redbeard Music plans to steadily build a larger selection of hand-picked themes, including two additional new songs by the end of February.
"Since we're working on behalf of other artists, the licensing model of RedbeardMusic.com is obviously distinct from Stock20's all-inclusive and unending license. That's a big part of our decision to launch a separate entity." States Daniel Rudd, "But our clients can expect the same type of customer service, and the same unconditional 100% customer satisfaction guarantee offered by Stock20 from both sites. We're excited to be a part of something that provides a significant benefit to musicians, while offering an affordable licensing solution to our clients."
