Focus Enhancements, Inc. (NASDAQ: FCSE), a worldwide leader in media management and Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless technology, today announced HD File Converter Pro, a Windows-based application for conversion between DVCPRO HD, DVCPRO 50 and DVCPRO/DV P2 file types and various non-linear editing (NLE) file formats such as QuickTime, AVI Type 2 and MXF.

"Panasonic’s P2 solutions are being widely used in numerous applications around the world," said Matt McEwen, senior product manager for Focus Enhancements. "Many customers have been asking for a simple utility that allows for quick conversion between different DVCPRO HD/50/DV file types and NLE formats such as QuickTime. We created HD File Converter Pro to fulfill these customers’ needs."

"We have worked with Focus Enhancements on various projects over the years, including the original DV File Converter Pro and the successful FS-100 Portable DTE Recorder," said Tadao Shimozuru, Director of Professional AV Systems Division, Panasonic AVC Networks Company. "With HD File Converter Pro, P2 users have additional options to exchange files between various versions of editing systems or existing content without loss of video quality."

When working with DVCPRO HD and DVCPRO 50 content, HD File Converter Pro makes it possible to convert between P2 and QuickTime, QuickTime Reference, AVI Type 2, Avid MXF and RawDV. When working with DVCPRO/DV content, HD File Converter Pro makes it possible to convert between P2 and QuickTime, QuickTime Reference, AVI Type 1, AVI Type 2, Canopus AVI, Matrox AVI, Avid OMF, Avid MXF, MXF OP1a and RawDV. The application also supports write back to P2 cards, auto conversion mode, file joining (for spanned files), audio extraction and insertion (DVCPRO/DV only), and FTP transfer direct from the application. Additionally, HD File Converter Pro supports DVCPRO HD PN modes for conversion, as well as the complete P2 directory structure including thumbnails and XML metadata files.

HD File Converter Pro is available now for a US MSRP of $299 at the Focus Enhancements web store, and on the HD File Converter Pro product page.
