EDIUS SD includes EDIUS Pro editing software for real-time mixed editing of uncompressed SD, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, DVCPRO50, and HDV; an RS-422 connector to provide accurate VTR control; an SDI input connector; two SDI output connectors; and a reference input connector to provide real-time performance and standard connectivity options.
For studios requiring additional connectivity, Canopus is offering the multi-I/O processing unit for EDIUS SD. This 3U rackmountable unit includes video connections such as SD-SDI with embedded audio, eight-channel AES/EBU, RS-422A I/O, SD reference in, sync generator, embedded TC, LTC in/out, four-channel balanced audio, and analog component video out (BNC and D-connector).
Additionally, Canopus has announced HDSC1, an SDI-to-component signal converter that converts HD-SDI signals to HD component output or SD-SDI signals to SD component output. Both component YUV and RGB format signals are supported, making the HDSC1 compatible with all component video devices. HDSC1 provides instant output of HD content to HD component displays such as HDTVs and RGB computer monitors, and SD content to component, S-Video, and composite displays. HDSC1 also incorporates a sync generator for both HD (tri-level sync) and SD (black burst).
HDSC1 also includes embedded audio support, conversion of SD-SDI to S-Video and composite, HD-SDI conversion to RGB for PC monitors that feature BNC inputs, and front-panel displays for video format and audio-level outputs. HDSC1 automatically detects the video format currently being output and also supports SDI signal pass-through.
HDSC1 is an eight-inch, half-rackmount unit with outputs for YPbPr, RGB, S-Video, and composite. The unbalanced RCA stereo output can be configured to output any pair of eight-channel embedded audio via the front control panel. An optional 19-inch rackmount kit is available for standard A/V rack installation.
