TMPG, Inc. Introduces TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress, Latest Version of Advanced Video-Encoding Software

TMPG, Inc. (www.tmpg-inc.com) is introducing the latest version of its advanced video encoding software, TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress. The new version is twice as powerful than previous versions, according to TMPG, and includes a host of new functions and advancements. The release date for the English and German languages are scheduled for Tuesday, June 13, the French release is scheduled for late July .

The software upgrade includes an array of features from frame-level cut-editing tools to advanced multiple video filters and effects. 4.0 XPress encoding also provides mobile support for PSP, iPod, and PDAs for on-the-go video viewing. Popular file formats supported by TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress include the following: DivX 6, AVI, HDV camcorder, QuickTime (MOV), MPEG-1/2 and 4 (ISO & AVC), H.264, DVD-Video, XDVD, DVD-VR, and Windows Media (WMV/WMV-HD/WMA). It also has input/output compatibility with Dolby Digital sound, Windows Media, MP3, and a wide variety of other audio programs as well as 19 powerful audio and video filters.

Among its new features is the ability to automatically import multiple files instantaneously. Another new feature offered is a video generator allows you to include text in your video. The editor provides numerous options and settings for your text. Additionally, TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress comes with a histogram with narrow and full-range display options, and a simple vectorscope for detailed color control. Also the color correction filter easily corrects color shifting of YUV components.

TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress' special frame-capture function allows users to create a slideshow by either using on-file pictures or utilizing separate individual video frames. An audio track, along with a wide variety of transitions, may be added to the slideshow. High-speed thumbnail viewing and scrolling allows users to quickly search video footage looking for specific scenes to be edited. Other new features include a split-clip function, undo/redo capability, key frames for clip editing, and drag-and-drop capabilities, as well as a batch encode tool and MPEG tools.

TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress encoding software will be available for downloading at www.tmpg-inc.com beginning June 13 at a cost of $99.95 per download.
