DVDO Launches Online Auction of 1080p Video Processor to Benefit Outreach Africa
Posted Mar 7, 2006

Beginning in March and continuing every month until the end of the year, DVDO will put one of its award-winning products up for auction via the link http://www.dvdo.com/charityauction/, and donate the proceeds to a worthy charity. March 2006's charity is Outreach Africa, a non-profit organization working to improve the lives of people from Tanzania East Africa through education and the development of local businesses, helping people to become self-sufficient in a nation greatly affected by the AIDS epidemic. More information about the cause can be found by visiting their website at www.outreachafrica.org. Contributions are 100% tax deductible.

"We are proud to offer this brand new DVDO iScan VP30 in the box with full warranty, as our first charity auction item. By featuring a new auction each month, Anchor Bay Technologies will support a variety of charities while offering quality video processing products to our civic-minded customers. It is a win-win situation for everyone involved and we look forward to seeing the money benefit worthy causes throughout the year," said Worldwide Director of Sales and Marketing Gary Chappell.

DVDO and Anchor Bay Technologies' charitable endeavors also branch into the local community where several employees volunteer with the Second Harvest Food Bank in San Jose, CA. Volunteers contribute by sorting and distributing food for member agencies, helping with the upkeep of the food bank and performing data entry to assist with inventory.

Like many in the consumer electronics industry, ABT also supports the Elf Foundation in Hollywood, CA. By auctioning off a DVDO iScan VP30 with the serial number 000001 and signed by all members of the ABT team, money was raised to support the Rooms of Magic program. According to their website, "The Elf Foundation utilizes the talents and products of the CE industry by targeting and directing them for sick kids who can always use a little bit of movie magic."

The Elf Foundation uses contributions to build Rooms of Magic in various medical facilities for children who have terminal illnesses or require long-term recovery stays. For more information on DVDO or to bid on this month's item, please visit http://www.dvdo.com/charityauction/.
