SmartSound Software, Inc., the leading provider of custom music scoring solutions for the video industry, announced today that three leading video editing providers are now including SmartSound® music scoring technology in their software programs.

Adobe Premiere® Elements version 7, which began shipping in September 2008, now includes an integrated version of SmartSound's Quicktracks® technology. This integrated approach provides a seamless workflow between the creative video editing process in Adobe Premiere Elements and creation of custom music tracks for video projects. Premiere Elements is a leading-selling consumer video-editing software that allows people to get started quickly, with automated moviemaking options, the ability to add knockout visuals and sound, using SmartSound Quicktracks and share movies everywhere.

Roxio, a division of Sonic Solutions, now includes SmartSound's professional product, Sonicfire® Pro, in Creator 2009 Ultimate and Toast 10 Pro. Creator Ultimate is a suite of easy-to-use, yet sophisticated media creation tools and Toast is the leading Mac-based DVD and CD burning application. Sonicfire Pro is a full-featured music scoring product with its patented custom length feature and groundbreaking Mood Mapping® technology. By including Sonicfire Pro, these Roxio products offer the most professional, results-driven music scoring experience available while providing award winning ease-of-use and music quality.

Additionally, Serif, Inc., a leading media-creative software company based in Nottingham, England, is offering its customers a bundle option of Sonicfire Pro with their Movie Plus X3 video editing software, widely used and popular in Europe. Serif feels the easy-to-use features of Sonicfire Pro are a good fit for its customers, who need powerful features that are readily accessible.

"We are proud to be included with these products," said Kevin Klingler, president and CEO of SmartSound Software, Inc. "SmartSound technology is already one of the most widely licensed audio technologies in the video industry and these new licenses demonstrate that our unique technology continues to drive customer value, loyalty and quality for the industry's leading non-linear editing packages."

These new licenses make a total of 15 products from seven different companies that include SmartSound technology. Toast makes the fifth product from Roxio/Sonic Solutions to include SmartSound technology and Premiere Elements is the second time Adobe has licensed it. Other companies include: Avid Systems, Corel/Ulead, Cyberlink and Pinnacle Systems, which uses SmartSound technology in its "Liquid" product.

Sr. Product Manager of Consumer Video for Adobe, Mike Iampietro, was happy to include SmartSound in their new release of Premiere Elements. "The fact that we have been able to integrate SmartSound Quicktracks in this way makes the music process more immediate and more creative for our customers, and the quality is great," he said.
